MECO7: Before & After

Free time for a creative can be dangerous – especially when you're a business owner with a big vision. So it’s no wonder that when I’m supposed to be home resting on maternity leave, I was actually dreaming up our next step for the store.

Fast forward a few months, a lot of hard work and some long nights (especially with a new baby) and we were able to reveal our new store expansion in May. (Seriously, if you haven’t come it to see it in person, you need to!) And if you’re like me, you love to see the before and after photos of a space.

We must caution you though, by viewing these photos, you may be inspired to transform your own home too!

When we first moved into the space, we had tan walls and dated purple carpet, plus a set of double doors which were formally used to go between our building and the China Panda which you can see are covered with foil here. ↑

As a solution to hiding these unused doors, we decided to block things off with an accent wall. Using cheap pine boards and a couple layers of Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, we created a rustic finish “pallet” wall. This made the perfect backdrop for our dining table and chairs, complete with an area rug that ties in neutral tones with a hint of blue.

Hint: did you notice all of the new area rugs now in stock? Plus we've got hundreds of other options to choose from, all of which can be custom made and drop shipped right to your home.

The purple carpet was old and obnoxious so we decided to cover it with a simple, snap-together laminate that would provide us with durability and an updated look.

Along with cutting in a doorway, we also updated the drop tile ceiling with metal copper sheeting and replaced the light with an enchanting chandelier.

With our new space, we were also able to create new vignettes to help inspire you as you shop for your home. Check out a few of our favorite pieces here:

We are also excited to share that we now offer custom upholstered furniture, along with our custom framing and painting services. If you can't find exactly what you want from something in the store, we will help you get what you are looking for.

We start by selecting your choice of couch, love-seat or chair and then your favorite fabric, ensuring you will get a piece that is made to match your space and style. Plus, each piece is made in America, so they are stout and made to last.

So we want to know, what space in your home are you itching to redo?
