Year of Possibility
I am not going to lie and say that I wasn't a little relieved to celebrate the start of a new year and to close 2015. Although there were many great things that happened in 2015, it will for me, be marked as a year of loss.
I lost number of people that were held very close to my heart including a very dear friend. I also lost my father after his 2 year battle with cancer. It was also a year that a number of dreams and plans were put on hold and I have had to accept the change in course that all of this has brought.
But that's not the end of the story, but rather a small piece of it. Yes, it is something that has molded me and I will forever be changed because of it, but I refuse to allow this time to fully define me.
Enters year 2016; a fresh start with possibility. And if you know anything about possibility it looks fear in the face and dives in anyway.
I recently took the leap and applied to become an OTA Builder and I am honored and humbled to have been chosen for this. OTA is a platform that encourages the creative class and the development of community. It is a group that hosts conferences, starts conversations and for the first time, develops OTA Builders. (If you are wondering what OTA stands for, it is for the OTA states: South DakOTA, North DakOTA & MinnesOTA.)
As an OTA Builder, I, along with 19 other amazing individuals (this truly is an understatement about the caliper of people that have been chosen), have the opportunity to connect, take part in mentorship and share our stories.
This is just the beginning of a new journey for me and I invite you to follow the process . I also encourage you to take on 2016 with a ferocious tenacity and embrace it as your own year of possibility.
